I hardly get anytime to knit, so my recent aquistition of crocheting skills – much quicker than knitting- has been a bit of a boon to my very small collection of handmade things.

The children just love it when I make something for them, and I am always feeling guilty that I do it so rarely. My new range of yarns – Head, Heart & Hands- are so chunky that things knit up very quickly, it feels a bit like cheating.

I have promised my three children – Xavier, Jude & Ivy- blankets for winter. The first one, Ivy’s, is already made. It only took about a week, just doing a little every night. I crocheted is from the H,H&H range.

As you can see, it is basically just a granny blanket, but the vibrant rainbow colours give it a contemporary twist.

It is so soft and squishy that Ivy insists on sleeping on top of it.
